Wednesday 28 April

Today just for something completely different Mark and I went to Canberra Hospital for more appointments. Mark had heaps of x-rays again - (not quite 2,700 like last time). At least it was an outing - !! This is Mark with Gawel Kulisiewicz, he is the orthopaedic surgeon who flew in to Canberra to do Mark's op - and says he will never forget that operation - at least Mark leaves an impression. (Mark is actually under 3 specialist and has to be reviewed by all but Gawel is the main one! He is the one who saved Mark's arm and his leg!)
And just so I didn't miss out on all the attention I had a blood test. The nurse was in hysterics because I took this photo!!!!

I am beginning to suspect that the makers of the Alien series took all their character ideas from the wildlife at my place!

This is also definitely one of the bugs the birds in January were feeding to the baby birds!

Grandma...... I am just soooo cute.... but Poppy won't play with me and Nanny keeps singing 'Yo Ho Ho and a bottle O' Rum'!!!!

Friday 23 April

I took Mark outside for 20 mins of sunshine and fresh air. I think he thought I was performing some type of torture on him - he reckons people can survive for years inside without sunshine!!!! Anyway the torture is more on me than him getting the wheel chair outside and then inside!

I took these to show how good his skingraft is now looking. It is about half the size it was originally and the skin is thickening up now.

PS I finally was able to get the photo off my phone for March the 9th - check it out!

The clouds looked absolutely amazing at sunset. This was from my back door, out the front was blue sky with no clouds!!!!

Wednesday 21 April

The parcel man delivered a fantastic present today. A wooden pandora bead - a sister bead to my other wooden bead - it symbolises quite a lot to me - a bond, support and love and sets my bracelet off beautifully making it feel balanced - quite symbolic in itself.

Tuesday 20 April

Between getting caught in a terrible storm (which neither Mark or I coped well with) and forgetting to put petrol in the car - we didn't make it to Mark's first physio appointment.

Monday 19 April

I spent part of the day making some cards and trying a different tecnique for water colour shading with Karen. Later I had a piece of wedding cake dropped off, looked at some of Rosemary's wedding photos and enjoyed my huge slab of cake!

I also have a beautiful clean kitchen thanks to my lovely daughter!

Sunday 18 April

After a lovely lunch and a very special visit, everyone headed home and my house seemed very very quiet.

Thursday 15 April

We were back at the hospital again today (3rd day in a row) and Mark had another new splint made for him - his 3rd now - by the hand specialist.
Here Allyse is showing Mark the splint he may get in a couple of weeks. Each finger and thumb fits into one of those dangly things which are hanging on wires attached to some sort of "thing" which gives a little bit of resistance to the fingers and wrist.

These are all very technical terms I am using here!!!!!!!!!!

Angie dropped in today with Madison. She is a dental nurse and was dropping off the request for Mark's xrays from the dentist - what good service you get when you use to baby sit the dental nurse!!

Sunday 11 April

Karen took me out today - this was my first actual 'outing' besides the hospital and the G.P.'s. We went to Gold Creek for iced chocolates. I had meant to take my photo when the drinks first arrived as they are gorgeous....... but forgot. Karen will probably go crook about this photo of her but she was complaining that she was going to take a pic for her photo of the day too and forgot as well!!!!

They were lovely and thoroughly enjoyed - not a drop left! Thanks Karen.

Saturday 10 April

Meg and Kees came over tonight with a roast lamb diner to share with Mark and myself. It was delicious. Mark even had extras.

After diner Meg and I raced over to see Sam and Jackson in their new beds just before they went to sleep. Sam has Mark's bed and Jackson has Sam's bed.

Our second trip to the GP, Rebecca came along to help.

Thursday 8 April

Stewie came back from New Zealand late last night and was at our house just after 9am today.

The two boys spent most of the day laughing. It was the nicest sound I could have heard.

Wednesday 7 April

Finally I have bought my new table and chairs - this was my birthday present from Rebecca and Meg. Rebecca dropped it round last night after 11pm so I didn't really look at it until today. It is still in the box but I can't wait to get it up. My old one broke into MANY pieces and was over 20yrs old!

Tuesday 6 April

Mark and I had a pretty busy afternoon. It was his first trip out of the house since coming home. He had to go to see the GP so when we finally got home after all the ogling of his xrays and scars that he was showing off he was exhausted and went straight back to bed. For diner he asked for Maccas - this is the first time he has had any since the accident.

Monday 5 April

Today I practised moving the ramp up into the doorway and then down out of the doorway. - some of us just know how to have fun!!!!! Max did the inspection for me!

Also........ I finally finished my book!

Mark and I had a quiet day - just what we needed.

Saturday 3 April

A regular visitor. This is a cocky but he is always alone - not with all the other cockies and is always being swooped by other birds. They don't seem to bother him and they don't seem to ever touch him. I would love to look after him as I always feel sad that he is alone. Nature is pretty cruel.

Friday 2 April

Lee, Robyn and Remy came last night to visit Mark and myself and left this morning to head to Albury for Lee's cricket. Karen came over last night to meet Robyn as they have been following each others photo a day challenge. This is them leaving for Albury.

Thursday 1 April

Max was very long, dirty and smelly after 3 and a half weeks of being on his own all day and most of the evening. I was too tired to wash and clip him myself so he got a huge treat. Lucy helped the man from Little Hiccups. Max looked beautiful and smelt lovely and was very proud of himself and his new hair do!!!

Wednesday 31 March

Mark is finally home - late in the afternoon and pretty exhausted but happy to be home and have a go on his computer. Doesn't he look fantastic - what an improvement.

Monday 29 March

A glimmer of the Mark we all love shining through.

Shadow in the background on his computer, trying not to laugh! Mark and Shadow enjoy each others company and talk all day and night and tease each other heaps.

Sunday 28 March

Tim and Keith came down to visit Mark and give him an ipod from all the family and they put together Mark's new bed while they were here........ Lots of room to stretch after the cramped hospital bed that just isn't long enough!!!

Saturday 27 March

Saying goodbye to Noel as he heads back to Melbourne again!

Mark is almost staple free on his arm - the nurse removed 122 staples today!!!!
The skin graft has taken really well.
