YUM

This is my first attempt at cooking coobies following two recipes which differ greatly from each other. So I have sort of combined them both. This was one of my favorite foods when I was little.

They taste pretty good at the moment and will fry some up when they have cooled - and freeze the rest.

I'll keep you some dad - you can be my tester!

Two boys take off in two different ways!

I went to watch Sam in an athletics fun day. He had a great time and it is the first time I have been able to go to the kids new school.

Also ......... I had to put this pic in ........ Mark had his first little drive in the car (with me in it of course) He did very well and even surprised himself by how well he was able to steer and brake. Absolutley no problems! I will take him out for short goes everyday and slowly build him up a bit ..... then he can have a go all by himself! A taste of freedom again!

Look Ma.......no crutches!

Mark can now walk short distances without crutches, and doing fantastically.

The physios were all really impressed with him today. He has exercises to do to try to get his leg working properly but it is all down hill from here.

He even went to Maccas this afternoon for the first time with one of his mates and didn't take the crutches with him at all. He is very happy.

Camelia

I spotted the first open camelia for the season today. There are hundreds of buds on the bush.

Cuckoo

Sam and Jackson had a sleepover last night, they were both as good as gold. This morning I had to set my alarm to go off every hour so they could watch the cuckoo!

First Jumper

I finished knitting a jumper for the AIDS babies in South Africa today. Now I just have to sew it together and start my next one!

A Visitor

Noel popped in for a short visit today!

Mark is gone for the night!

Mark went to his dad's today and is having his first sleep over there. It feels very strange without him at home.

PS please note his unique method of carrying things! I have even caught him carrying his dinner plate like that!!!!

I cut Max's hair off - did a bit yesterday and the rest today. Wish I could keep him long but it is just too thick and the grass seeds just get stuck in his fur. He is much happier when his hair is short, runs around like a mad puppy and wants heaps of cuddles.

Special Lunch

I took Mark and Stewie out for lunch after Mark's orthopaedic review. Mark's first meal out and a thankyou meal for Mark for being so wonderful and tolerant and positive and Stewie for everything he did and for all his support.

Walking

I went for a short walk today and got surprised by a huge kangaroo. He jumped right up and was just a couple of metres away from me(and towered over me!). I think I scared him just as much as he scared me because he took off - I just shook a lot!!! By the way none of these kangaroos had skis on!

The Murrumbidgee

I stopped off on my way to do some groceries to take some pics. I saw a gorgeous eagle but I had the wrong lens and he was a little too far away to come out properly so I will have to go back and see if I can find him again!

Parrotry

According to the dictionary the definition of parrotry is parrot.......... according to me it is a tree that grows parrots - I should know this one is on my front lawn!

Shopping

Karen and I went out shopping for some clothes today - there was a good sale on. I am very excited to have some new clothes and have now cleaned my whole wardrobe out to welcome them!!

Late Afternoon

Karen and I went out for a late afternoon walk. Very peaceful.

Easter Spinebill yet again

The Shower door is back

YAY!!! The shower door is back - unfortunately without the glass side panel - it got broken! So we still have to shower with towels on the floor until it is fixed!

Water dish

On the cold mornings I break up the ice in the birds water dish so they can have a drink - otherwise it doesn't thaw out till mid afternoon!

Things are definitely progressing - we have a chair now for the shower! YAY! Mark had his first shower tonight totally unasisted -very exciting for him.

Teresa

My friend Teresa came to visit today. I am learning a lot about friends! Some of them are fantastic, amazing people, and Teresa is one of those.

Strathnairn and wren

Karen and I went to the Strathnairn Gallery (which is 5mins away) to vote on some art exhibition entries. It is a lovley peaceful spot with gorgeous views to the mountains.
I had to share this photo - this is the little adult male Superb Fairy-wren. He is losing his beautiful blue feathers as breeding season is over! Within a day or two he will just look like a plain brown fairy wren.

Mary

My good friend Mary came over to visit for the afternoon today. Her poor hand is a lot better but still not too good.

Scarlet Robin

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to two special men in my life! Dad and Steve - wish I could have been with both of you today!

I have been getting some ok photos of the little birds at my place and thoroughly enjoying taking pics of them - they are getting used to me a bit and don't mind me being a little closer - I stay very still though.
