Raining Candles

It has rained most of the day - Lucy slept over and when I dropped her at home these two magpies were huddled on the wall for shelter.
A candle party at Chris' place - really nice but a bit pricey unfortunately!

Spider Catcher

With the warmer weather my spider catcher is woking over-time. For some reason Huntsmans think the warmer weather is 'move in doors time!' - I do have to learn to release them better cause they keep running up the handle - so I have a tecnique I am dubbing the release - chuck - run method!!!

I worked from 8am to 9.30pm today - it was a great day and very busy good night!

Karen from work and I went to the launch of the school uniform web site. (Not sure we were the best two to represent Canberra High!! - we had a great night)

Spur Winged Plover - readying for attack

There were two masked lapwings attacking just outside work - they are awful when they attack, they have spurs that can cut you quite badly - they lay their eggs on the ground then when the chicks hatch they move them - this is when they attack. They are smart too - one watches you and makes a big noise and then all of a sudden from behind you comes the other one. - They missed me ( many times!!)

How Lucky am I??

YAA!!!! I won a small meat tray - now I have more than two ice trays in my clean freezer!!!

Free Dinner

Teresa talked me into going to a free dinner - it came with a talk about sleeping and bedding - gorgeous stuff but huge prices.

The meal was so small we ducked out early and went to Maccas for dinner and saw Mark.

Broken branches

Apparently there was a fairly strong wind on Saturday night and some of the branches broke off the tree out the front.

And the freezer!

I can't even blame Max or Mark for this as I think it may have been me who left the freezer door open - Oh well I have a very clean freezer - very empty - but very clean!!

My loungeroom........

The carpet in my loungeroom after being away for a weekend!!! And this is just a bit of it......! A result of circumstances???!!!

Mum and Oscar

It was great to see Mum and Dad at last after mum's op - and doesn't she look good. The pain may be pretty bad but she has got through it all fantastically and now it is just patience till it all heals. and she is able to get back to doing things. I just wish I could do more to help them.

New Staghorns

I bought two Staghorn plants at the markets on Sunday for $5 each - I am still trying to find some wood to attach them to.

The very first MyWay card

I receied the MyWay card I ordered last week - this is the very first one in the ACT.

Poor Mark - not his year!

Mark has broken his big toe quite badly - on his left foot - Now he can't weight bare properly on either leg! It is very very swollen and he will lose that nail. He had only ever been to the drs 4 times in 17 years - but after this year he is now on first name basis with MANY dr's.

He opened a drawer too far and it fell on his toe.

Market Day

Karen and I went to the Hall markets today - they are only on once a month.

Watching Over

The dad bird is watching over as mum feeds the baby.

I should also add that while across the road today walking in armpit high grass and looking down the whole time watching for snakes, a startled kangaroo popped his head up about a metre from me and while I was madly turning my camera on and focussing he hopped away! I don't know who scared who!!!

I could make a book with all the photos I missed this year!!!

I had a late lunch today so grabbed some Maccas and headed for the lake for a break!

MyWay

The whole of Canberra is changing to MyWay ID cards. It is a brand new system throughout all schools -private and public and on all the buses - so the same card is used everywhere. I am the first person in the ACT to be able to get the program loaded up and working. I have just ordered my first card - for pepe la pew!

First Rose open for mum

This is my very first rose and only rose open - so this one is for mum - hope the op goes well - am thinking of you.

After so long of drougt it is lovely to come home and see everything so green again.
